I love this picture wall
I know M would hate and vito it. I'm not sure Chloe is ready for pictures hung so low. I do love it though and if it were solely my choice I would go it in some form. Black or white frames work for this sort of display. A wall of family history and memories.

Why is it so?
Two houses are currently being built side by side(one of them has the awful colour combo I mentioned in a previous post DOH!). Anyway whilst the bricks are both PGH Sorbetto they look different to each other.
I wondered why...both houses being built simultaneously, side by side, both are the same brick, both in the same light, both the same builder. Are they different batches of bricks? Why do the look so different? One looks dirty...yet they have both been cleaned. Why? I kept driving past, wondering and inspecting.
The other day I sat staring at those houses thinking to myself, I hope our bricks don't look like those dirty ones! Then it dawned on me...different mortar colour and finish. One has a natural cement mortar (grey) with a flush finish and the other has an off white mortar that is ironed. The off white ironed mortar looks so much nicer, cleaner. A sense of relief came over me as I thought thank God you chose wisely!

No mushroom city.
A while back I said that we had found out there will be two more Majestic houses in the street which bothered me.
UPDATE: I spoke with the builder about the other peoples house colours now they would have chosen them and much to my relief, they are different.
One is going to be PGH Bathrust which is a tumbled brown and cream brick with mushroom coloured (different style) windows and garage door, no bagging or slate. It sounds lovely actually and this was a brick I considered but it didn't go with the overall look I wanted. Council actually sent us a copy of their plans (not at our request, councils sometimes do this). Their house plan is different to ours, their windows are different, the house is set back further as their block is kind of pie slice shaped and it is set lower plus their colours are different. No one will even notice.
The other majestic which is across the street and down the road is a MKII facade and is going to be in a blond brick. Actually the PGH Crema brick we originally considered. I am not sure about the windows etc but the cream brick was enough for me to be alright with it. I don't think anyone would go with white windows and cream bricks but I guess you never know because I have seen a few awful combos lately. So much for the "design" panel!

Picture of slab as promised. It was right on dusk but you get the idea.
I guess with all the rain there was no chance that the slab would dry out to quickly. Now my hope is the rain will go away for a while so our frame can be delivered some time next week and then errected the week after.

We have a slab!
I don't have a picture as yet because all the workers were in the way but we might go past tonight for a look.
We are stoked that they were able to lay it today.

I drove past last night form work is complete, waffle pods, rio and saddles are in. If the rain holds off the slab will be laid this week. That's the plan anyway.

Had our final appointment
Our "For construction" plans are signed and final! Except for the kitchen colours and we haven't selected tiles yet but still the plans say "For Construction"!
We just have to wait for the letter of commencement to come and then they can start the build which is scheduled for next week. The bank has really crapped me off here they could have done this sooner. Dragging their feet big time. Lets hope they pick up the pace and get that letter to them by Monday or construction will not start next week but the week after. Grrrrrrr!
